The Met Office has issued dangerous sea wind and surf warnings for the entire NSW coast, including Sydney, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Hunter, Illawarra, Batemans Bay and the Eden Coast.
Waves of up to 12 meters have been reported on Sydney’s eastern beaches.
Strong gale force warnings are also in effect for Sydney, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and the Eden Coast. The BOM is advising people to stay out of the water and avoid areas prone to waves through Tuesday.
Boaters and anglers should consider modifying or delaying their plans due to hazardous conditions. These conditions coincide with below-average temperatures in South Australia and more cold days are expected. A second wave of cold air is expected from the south in the coming days.
